INVESTMENT ACTIVITY TO RESIDENCE PERMIT (ARI)
Portugal opens the door to non-EU citizens and offers the possibility of obtaining permanent residence permit - the "Golden Visa".
Through this method, the Government intends to attract third-country nationals who wish to invest in Portugal in exchange for a permanent residence visa and therefore access to all of Europe.
To get to the "Golden Visa", investors must meet at least one of the following conditions:
a) capital transfer to Portugal value equal or higher than EUR 1 million.
In the case of transfer of capital in the amount of 1,000,000.00 euro or more, the applicant shall submit a statement from a financial institution authorized to exercise their activity in the country attesting that is the only or first owner of capital. If the investment comes from a society, it is important to present the updated commercial registration certificate attesting to the arrest of social participation in society on the amount required.
b) Creating at least 30 jobs.
Investments that lead to the creation of at least 30 jobs, the applicant must provide proof of registration of assisting in social security, through a "date certificate of social security."
c) Purchase of property worth equal or higher than € 500,000.
The most affordable way to get residence permit for investment activity, is the acquisition of real estate worth equal or higher than 500,000.00 euro. In this case, the applicant must demonstrate full ownership of the property (free of burdens and obligations), with the deed of sale and updated certificate of the land registry.
